The Romantic era, which lasted from the late 18th well into the 19th century, strongly influenced the art scene of those day. Accordingly, the representation of the nativity scene as a symbol of the birth of Jesus was influenced.
The oriental style elements, such as the landscape motif with the palm trees and the big differences between wealth and poverty, can also be found in the Nazarene Nativity of Lepi.
The contrast between the rich, magnificent clothes of the Holy 3 Kings and that of the poor shepherds is clear.
