, born on 25th March 1908 in Patsch in Tyrol, is one of the most famous masters under the nativity artists. As a toddler, he tried to carve his first nativity animals. After his elementary school graduation, Rupert Reindl came to Romed Speckbacher laboratory in Thaur, which was one of the leading wood carvers of his time. For almost 20 years he worked in the woodcarving laboratory Speckbacher and carved during these years thousands of nativity figurines. After the war, Rupert joined the Stettnerhof in Igls, near Innsbruck. Later he started worked at home, where he spend the whole day in front of his workbench. Nativities, Madonnas and many other wood carvings created in his own workshop were sent into the wide world. On September 8th 1990, the nativity artist died in Igls. The Rupert Reindl master pieces are still recognized as a landmark in the entire Christmas nativity scene.
